Mykonos, Greece, Finishing our Trip Strong with One More Incredible Island
July 10th This was our only full day in Mykonos so the plan was to take the bus into town and see a new city on the island. The first bus was at 10am and breakfast opened up at 8am, so we had some time to make it a slow morning. I wanted to go to the ocean early in the morning because we had an adorable beach but during the day it's swamped with clubbers so this was our only opportunity to enjoy it alone. Well, we weren’t alone. We were joined with two kittens that followed

Parikia, Paros to Mykonos a Warm Travel Day to our Next Island
July 9th The beach in the distance is where I swam Inspired by the sunset and swimmers at the beach near us, I woke up early to go for a morning swim. I wanted to make sure I fit in an extra activity for the day because I knew we weren’t about to have the most exciting day waiting for the ferry, riding the ferry, and getting to our hotel in Mykonos. The water was so chilly in Paros that it took me a while to even wade in. I had the beach to myself for most of it, however the

Naoussa, Paros, Greece, A New City Explored on the Island of Paros
July 8th Our last full day in Paros and we had one more city to explore, Naoussa. This city was the second largest on the island and was on the north side. Because it is so popular, there are a ton of buses that connect our port city to this beach town. Excited to explore a new city, I convinced mom to wait to have breakfast until we got to the new city, so we could try a new place. We got on the 9am bus and were there by 9:30am and at my handpicked breakfast spot at 9:35am.

Antiparos, Greece, Pink Skies of Paper Flowers and Blue Water Surround
July 7th Another island today! Although we weren’t going super far or packing up and moving onto the next, I was still so excited to get back on the boat and explore a new part of this country. We are headed for Antiparos. The name Antiparos literally means "opposite Paros" in Greek. Antiparos lies just southwest of Paros, separated by a narrow strait only about 1.5 kilometers wide, about a 5 minute boat ride, but from our port a bit further north up the coast, it was 25 minu

Lefkes, Paros, Greece Day 1, a Picturesque Village in the Greek Isles
July 5th Just like that, what we came here for was complete, and what was left was our holiday to the greek islands. We had a taxing travel day that involved every mode of transport and much reading and writing. To bridge the gap and summarize the rather mundane but necessary day, we did the following. Taxi from our hotel to the bus station, bus from Patras to Athens, taxi from Athens bus station to the port, stopping for some Indian food for lunch. Boarded the ferry, and fou

Patras, Greece, Day 2, Wedding Day!
Friday July 4th Happy Independence Day! Another year I'm not in the U.S. to celebrate lol, but I wasn't too sad to miss out celebrating this holiday. I don't have a solid tradition to look forward to each year, no cabin, no boat, no set place my family or friends comes to meet, and for variability the holiday tends to bring, I don't have a strong attachment to the day. So, I was overjoyed to be in Greece, doing some of my favorite things in the world - traveling and being by

Patras, Greece Day 1, a 10km Run Across the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, a Grecian Farm Tour, and Beach Time
Thursday July 3rd Our first day full day in Patras! I was eyeing up the Rio–Antirrio Bridge bridge yesterday and thought that running across it would be a cool activity to do while in Patras. This bridge is one of the world’s longest cable bridges, stretching almost 3 kilometers across the sea. It was completed in 2004, just before the Athens Olympic Games, and it connects the Peloponnese peninsula at Rio with mainland Greece at Antirrio. If you want to drive across the brid

Athens Day 3, Acropolis, Last Bit of Athens, and Drive to Patras
Wednesday July 2nd I cannot believe that it is already our last day in Athens, the first stop of our grand Greece tour. It was an early morning wake up call as we had to pack up, store our luggage, and walk to the meeting point for the acropolis tour. To save on time this morning but stay fueled for the day, we had packed up most of our stuff yesterday during our midday break, plus we also picked up some new pastries to try at Holy Llama for our breakfast this morning. The pa
